of Fire and Ice
The first book in a series
of books about Agor, a young boy who lives in a primitive
land of long ago. On a hunting trip away from his village,
Agor meets a boy named Gonther from another clan. The wise
men of their clans decide the boys should make the journey
together to visit the Man of the Mountain to learn about their
changing world. The animals have left the forest and without
them, the clans can't survive. The boys are given a mission
to learn what they can about the world so they can bring back
the information to their people.
During their adventures they meet
many fantastical creatures, including the Talloo and the LightMaster.
In the Land of Fire and Ice they are rescued from dangerous
men by someone who they think is a boy. It turns out to be a girl
named Maida. Together, the three of them go out into the forbidding
land to try to save the Beast with the Golden Horn.
It is a story of discovery - about
themselves, each other and the magic of the world we all live
in.
